What Does LantBuoy Look Like Now?

Many followers have speculated on what LantBuoy looks like right now. Well, we now have an idea. On 27 July, 4 days after LantBuoy was deployed, the Seacharger Solar Powered Boat was launched from Hawaii to New Zealand. It had previously gone from California to Hawaii. In late Dec it failed on the way to NZ, but the owners still had communications and could follow it. Through some remarkable efforts, the Seacharger team found a cargo vessel willing to try to find and retrieve their boat. You can read about the recovery here. Note especially the amount of bio-fouling on the bottom of the boat, and how clean the solar panel is in the picture of it in the water. It's likely that LantBuoy is equally clean on top, but completely fouled with barnacles underneath and along the PVC pipe.
