Diagnosing Atlantic Buoy Recent Behavior

Here's a plot of the Iridium SBD message delay from nominal (11 min after the hr). Since March there's been a marked increase in the delay, most dramatically starting in late April. This also coincided with some messages missing GPS data. One explanation for this behavior is that the buoy is "settling" in the water due to water intrusion or biofouling. Since GPS and Iridium both use L-Band, which is greatly affected by water, this explanation could explain the observed behavior. Power still appears to be good, since there's been no reboots in over 50 days. If caused by biofouling, we can hope that a big storm will knock some those creatures off and give us a little more buoyancy.
